Spirit Rock Meditation Center sits on 412 acres of grassy meadows nestled in valleys between steep, rolling hills. Shady oak groves and deep bay woods flourish alongside the many stream beds. Accessible but quite, the land is protected by adjacent parks and conversation easements. It is an ideal natural setting for reflection and contemplative practice.

After a long search, the land was purchased in 1988 from the Nature Conservancy. In 1990 a large mediation hall, administrative office, and caretaker's quarters were completed. In 1994, a kitchen and dining hall facility were added, allowing us to seat over 100 people at meals and community events.

Hundreds of people now attend classes and daylong retreat each week at the Center. In addition, Spirit Rock organizes silent meditation retreats throughout the year. Over 7,000 people have generously given of their time and money to help develop spirit Center.
