Spirit Rock Hall

A staff of several full-time employees is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center, with ongoing support from a large and enthusiastic group of volunteers. Residential retreats are staffed by volunteers, who, in the spirt of generosity and service, rely on dana (donations) from retreatants to support their work. A collective of Spirit Rock teachers, deeply trained in the Buddhist tradition, guides the programs and is responsible for the teachings offered at the Center. The central decision-making body for Spirit Rock is its Board of Directors.

The work of the Board is supported by a number of committees in areas such as gifts, design, finance, scholarships, ethics, staff, events, and program. The Board and all committees of Spirit Rock operate by a consensus principle. Staff, Board, and committee meetings utilize silence, careful listening, a deep respect for different points of view, and a basic belief that the Dharma can be understood and practiced by all.
